Travis Brooks-Garrett currently serves as a Director of Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA), a peak body for the international trade sector in Australia representing approximately 70% of the country’s inbound containerised trade, including major importers and logistics service providers. FTA is a member of Australia’s National Committee for Trade Facilitation (NCTF).
In 2016, FTA was appointed as the Secretariat of the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA). APSA is designated by the Australian Federal Minister of Infrastructure and Transport to protect the interests of Australian exporters in respect to international liner shipping services. APSA members include Australia’s largest containerised exporters by volume. In 2017, Travis was appointed to the Board of APSA in addition to his Secretariat role.
Prior to his role at FTA, Travis was a General Manager of a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) specialising in logistics and related fields.
Travis’s practice areas include international trade, Government affairs and industry training.
Travis participates in several industry committees, including the Law Council of Australia Customs and International Trade Committee. Since 2015, Travis has written the weekly editorial for Lloyds List Australia (now DCN), as well as contributing to other trade media publications addressing shipping and international logistics issues.
